Application of perfume oils
1. Apply the oil to warm pulse points.
These are the areas where the skin is thin and blood vessels are nearby – they give off heat and help to slowly unfold the fragrance:
• Behind the ears
• On the neck (side, not directly in front)
• Inner sides of the wrists
• Inner sides of the elbows (bends)
• Chest area
• Behind the knees (very effective on long days or in summer)
• Hair & Beard
Tip: The warmer your body, the stronger the scent of the oil, but too much heat (e.g., right after showering) can also cause it to evaporate more quickly. Important: For external use only; avoid contact with mouth, eyes, and intimate areas.
2. Apply it to slightly damp skin after showering.
After showering, the pores are slightly open, and the oil blends better with the skin.Often, just one drop is enough, as oils are highly concentrated.
Important: The skin should be clean and slightly damp, but not wet.
3. Moisturize your skin beforehand with unscented lotion or petroleum jelly.
Dry skin causes fragrances to evaporate more quickly. Applying a neutral moisturizer or petroleum jelly beforehand will help the oil adhere better and last significantly longer.
4. Clothing: a small drop on fabric (but carefully!)
You can apply tiny amounts (e.g., with a cotton swab) to the inside of your collar, scarf, or sweater. Avoid light-colored clothing!Perfume oil can leave stains. Cotton retains the fragrance particularly well.
5. Not too much and not directly in the sun.
A few drops are enough; perfume oil is highly concentrated. If you apply it to open wounds and then go out in the sun, it can cause skin reactions depending on the composition (most often with citrus scents).
6. Layering for a stronger effect
You can easily apply the same fragrance to several areas – e.g., neck, wrists, chest, hair, etc. This creates an even fragrance throughout the day.
7. Application technique for maximum effect
• Dab instead of rub:
Many people make the mistake of rubbing the oil between their wrists. This destroys the delicate top notes and overheats the oil.
Better: lightly pat or roll the oil on so that it can gently unfold with the warmth of the skin.
• Wear in layers (layering trick):
Apply the same perfume oil several times, but thinly, e.g. once after showering and again before going out (at intervals of about 30–60 minutes).
This creates a stronger aura because the layers are released at different speeds, and the fragrance remains deeper, richer, and longer.
• Lightly perfume the clothing before wearing it:
Apply a drop of oil to the collar, sleeves, or shoulder area of your clothing a few hours before putting it on.
The fragrance is absorbed into the fabric and unfolds upon contact with the body, creating a natural, elegant cloud of scent when moving or passing by.
8. Store correctly
Store your perfume oil in a cool, dark place – not in the bathroom, as moisture and temperature fluctuations can affect the quality.
The dark black bottle was intentionally designed to best protect the fragrance from light. Ideally, store it in a drawer or cupboard at room temperature. To extend its shelf life, place the bottle back in our Potencía packaging after each use.
